About You:
As a Senior Deliver Manager, you are accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services through the whole delivery lifecycle.
A Senior Delivery manager will be accountable for:
- the performance of multiple teams/ Initiatives
- building and maintaining successful teams which are motivated and collaborative
- Compliant with existing delivery standards
- Shaping the delivery framework through its continuous delivery lifecycle
Role Overview
The Data & Analytics Programme is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager with a track record of delivering full lifecycle data orientated projects, managing multi-disciplined teams.
The role will see you accountable for the outputs from one or more development teams and will be the main point of escalation.
You will act as a role model within the discipline and wider community coaching/mentoring other Delivery Mangers.While having the ability to drive a team of experts in a fast-paced environment and be fiercely passionate about data and what answers thisholds for the Business.
Role Accountabilities:
- Leading the delivery efforts of autonomous teams in achieving delivery goals and high performance
- Influences and drives multiple teams to the delivery of the business' outcomes
- Influence and manages the priorities at the team level
- Lead and build the delivery plan for complex initiatives/ Products by working with relevant stakeholders.
- Continuously assess the team's approach and work with the Agile Coach to adapt planning tools, Agile methods, and communication to ensure a successful and sustainable delivery
- Help define and drive the maturing of Delivery Assurance within the business.
- Manage Products/Initiatives through all stages of the Delivery lifecycle
- Be an advocate for transparency, pragmatism and using data to drive decisions
- Proactively represent delivery to wider stakeholders advocate the delivery processes
- Supports transparency and predictability across teams using appropriate tools and metrics consistently to describe to the business the progress being made against delivery
- Mentors and coaches' direct reports and other in the team working closely with the communities of practise, to help them develop.
- Advocate being outcome focused not output.
- Manages the tracking of programme/project performance (finance/scope)
- Leads efforts in being client focused
- Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Builds long term capability, through nurturing and promoting selforganisation, leading to an increased transparency and trust through autonomy, mastery and purpose.
- Communally facilitate the centre of excellence for delivery
- Defines best practice and advocate/influence adoption
- Coordinate with Agile coach to promote Agile best practice and processes across teams
- Encourage teams to improve through shared learning experiences and expanding their knowledge by being involved in community activities
Experience and Skills:
- Experience of working on a cloud migration project, with working knowledge either Microsoft or AWS platform technologies
- Able to understand technical deliveries and challenge at SMEs at a high level
- Experience of leading large scale E2E Data projects
- Significant experience in managing and maintaining core product/ Initiatives
- Working with throughput metrics and being able to provide proactive forecasting
- Demonstrable expertise and experience in working within agile environments
- Experience of delivery in a software engineering environment within a continuous integration/delivery (CICD) environment
- Successfully run agile deliveries through a delivery lifecycle of varying size and complexity from start to finish
- Experience delivering for large scale multimillionpound products/Initiatives of work
- Knowledgeable about different agile methodologies, their relevant to specific situations and expected benefits.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary agile teams though coaching, mentoring and collaboration to attain a delivery focus on outcomes.
- Experience working closely with customers to understand, negotiate and adapt priority changes
- Be responsible for thinking laterally and understand the impact of decisions to the wider environment
- Be able to manage stakeholders, influence them to the correct result
- Drive new ways of thinking within the business and tech teams
- Pragmatic in the approach to work and drive the team along similar lines
- Advocate on behalf of the team and department with wider stakeholder groups.
- Ensure alignment of the Team's work with wider business priorities.
- Lead other delivery managers to achieving programme goals
- Experience of product/initiative related problem solving within a complex business environment with time constraints.
- Experience in working with platform, service, and product teams where dependencies are complicated
- Abreast of software development processes
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
