  • Working hours for this role will be Monday to Thursday between 18:00pm to 03.45am

    We are looking for a Team Leader who will be responsible for the day to day overseeing of the work carried out in the Weld area, whilst supporting the supervisor with the day-to-day successful completion of tasks in Weld. Overseeing the work of fellow production operatives, the team leader is key to ensuring the efficiency and achieving delivery milestones whilst maintaining quality standards and fostering a safe working culture. The team leader shall provide support to all team members which includes the development of junior members such as apprentices and will also act as a technical competence when assessing and training fellow operatives.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Promoting a safe working environment by ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work and continually working to identify safer ways of working.
  • Ensure efficient start up and end of shift routine which will enable the operation to achieve daily KPI's.
  • Monitor working standards, coaching the team to continuously improve the processes and abilities of team members.
  • Maintaining local area standards through housekeeping and best practice working.
  • Provide support and input into continuous improvement activities within the team and the wider business.
  • Ensure that the production area and processes are enabled to start at the beginning of the shift.
  • Actively contribute to the manufacturing of product whilst being the local point of contact for your team.
  • Verify accurate completion of build documentation (e.g. Build Record Cards and Control Plans).
  • Reporting shortages to production controller.
  • Reporting sicknesses and absences to the supervisor

  • Ideally you will have:

  • Competent in weld processes and techniques.
  • Competence in reading engineering drawings and associated data.
  • Experience in training individuals is desirable
  • Completed a City and Guilds Apprenticeship or equivalent in Welding
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification is preferable however training could be required.
  • Substantial experience in welding, vehicle body building, mechanical fitting, or equivalent trade.
  • Competent written and verbal skills.
  • Ideally experience managing the completion of tasks within a team
  • Ability to interact with all members of the team and at all levels within the business.

  • This role is required to be based on-site full time
  • There may be occasional travel
