Senior Communications Specialist - Bournemouth, Dorset, United Kingdom - Draken Europe

    Default job background
    Description

Draken Europe offers exciting careers that matter.

We believe that mission success does not start with the mission itself. It begins with our people.

    The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Communications Specialist to support the Head of Communications. The successful candidate will help drive Draken's external and internal communicationsstrategies across EMEA. The role will involve strategic planning and execution of communications initiatives externally for a range of customer, industry and government stakeholders and internally for audiences at Draken's sites in the UK and internationally.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    • Working alongside, and deputising for, the Head of Communications. The role works with the leadership team and internal stakeholders.
    • Develop engaging narratives about Draken that articulate our technological focus and the contribution our people and services make to the defence and security capabilities of the customers we work with.
    • Support the Head of Comms in planning and execution of communications and business growth strategies (including crisis communications responses), that deliver Draken's messaging using a multi-channel approach.
    • Effective use of social media, written editorial, website, photographic and video content.
    • Support the planning and delivery of Draken's exhibitions, conferences, and events calendar internationally, including attendance at these as required.
    • Lead the co-ordination and distribution of a range of written materials including marketing materials and presentations relating to the business.
    • Work in support of the CEO and Senior Leadership and business service delivery leaders.
    • Manage a range of internal communications channels, for example regular e-newsletters, base briefs, and in-house publications.
    • Support the creation of annual communications and marketing plan and budgets.
    • Multi-year experience in senior communications, marketing or public affairs functions, either in-house or in an agency setting.
    • A defence / aerospace background is highly desirable but is not essential – the ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and to understand various technologies is equally valid.
    • Proven track record in engaging a range of audiences.
    • Experience of successfully building and maintaining strong and positive relationships at multiple levels of seniority.
    • Proven project management skills and experience of coordinating communication and marketing campaigns.
    • Experience devising and delivering a successful corporate events calendar.
    • Experience at managing communication channels including social, digital and traditional channels.
    • An excellent command of language, an eye for detail and the ability to write for a range of defence-related audiences.
    • A highly creative individual, your visual content design skills will complement your written work, including the ability to design compelling materials to brand guidelines using Adobe Creative software (primarily InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator skills) and the O365 suite of software.
    • Strong knowledge of communication and engagement best practice and tools.

    • Proven ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with resilience.
    • A/V and filming skills are desirable, as is the ability to commission and manage content creation both in-house and with external agencies.
    • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Marketing, PR, Communications or a related subject and/or a commensurate level of relevant multi-year industry experience.
