    NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles.     The shift pattern is Monday to Friday .

    East Dunbartonshire HSCP has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated School Nurse to join their team. Applicants must be a current Registered Nurse (NMC) and have a post graduate Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) qualification in School Nursing.

    School Nurses work in partnership with children, young people and their carers to develop positive physical and emotional health and wellbeing – assisting them to attain their full potential.

    School Nurses work in partnership with the wider multi-agency team eg social work, education, police and third sector organisations – to identify and support health and wellbeing needs for a designated population of school aged children & young people based on the Principles of Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC).

    Candidates require to have a working knowledge of child protection systems and are expected to provide accessible, safe, effective and person centred care as part of the School Nursing Service. Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills along with knowledge of IT systems are essential. The caseload holder will be accountable for leadership as part of the wider team and is expected to provide supervision and learning to current and future SCPHN students (School Nursing).

    Ability to travel across East Dunbartonshire is essential.
