A Stereolithography operator is required for a long term contract assignment based in Bolton


Overview of department:
Stereolithography department aims to provide the preferred rapid prototyping 3D printing solution for all UK sites.

We utilise the latest most accurate 3D printing equipment, materials and software to print new design models, prototypes and production tooling.

Each year thousands of parts are printed for hundreds of different customers (all UK employees).


A recent investment in new equipment has quadrupled capacity of the department, which must continue to provide a rapid response.

Therefore an opportunity has come about for a dedicated operator to support the 3D printing manufacturing process and allow the full capability of the facility to be maintained throughout the year.

This is a unique opportunity to operate a mini production line in full. You will be printing the latest prototypes generated by hundreds of design engineers.


Responsibilities:


Reporting to the engineer who manages the department; whom will provide full training and continued support throughout, work as a team to continuously improve the facility and provide the best 3D printing service possible for the business.


Duties include:

  • Carry out operations from start to finish
  • Assessing print requests.
  • Setting up part selecting the best setup strategy to ensure best print outcome.
  • Generate print file.
  • Starting the printer.
  • Unload finished print.
  • Processing print through wash machine, UV oven, light manual sanding.
  • Inspecting parts.
  • Despatch.
  • Maintain stock of consumables.
  • Maintain calibration of all equipment.
  • General housekeeping (site facility changes bins and cleans floor)
  • Help identify and prevent problems occurring in equipment and processes.
  • Understand relevant risk assessments and follow safe working practices.
  • Follow defined procedures and maintain high quality standards with right first time mentality.
  • Help train and share workload with operator apprentice (up to 1 new operator for up to 3 months at any time).
