We're Smart Tec Solutions operating throughout the UK offering Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services, specialising in retail, commercial and education sectors.

We offer a true design and build service to all sectors.


Position
We are searching for a Document Controller to join our project team. You will work alongside our Projects Managers to ensure successful delivery of the projects.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Projects Managers in daytoday activities.
  • Preparation and control of project quality management systems and documentation throughout projects.
  • Setting up new subcontractor accounts as required.
  • Reviewing and updating the internal management system (IMS).
  • Issuing documents and drawings to site teams.
  • To support the project department with the smooth running of projects.
  • To liaise with the entire project team, including the Project Manager, Site Manager, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • To coordinate and issue documentation including material schedules, drawing issues, and O&M manuals.
  • Coordinate and control all electronic drawings and other control documents, maintain project drawing register using Procore.
  • Create and print drawing issues where necessary.
  • Ensure procedures are maintained and improved on for the smooth running of the office.
  • Liaise with other internal departments.

Requirements:


  • Strong and clear communication skills.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise tasks.
  • Keen to take responsibility for all the IMS and project procedures.
  • Keen to develop and put forward ideas for improvement and development opportunities of existing products.
  • Build strong relationships with clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages specifically Excel.

Salary:
Up to £24,000 per year

The Smart Tec Solutions Head Office is based in the iconic Fort Dunlop building, in Birmingham. We also have an office based in Openshaw, Manchester.

We were founded in April 2015 by Jon Potter and Andrew Constantinou, with a small team of highly skilled engineers.


We have directly employed SMSTS site supervisors, plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, and apprentices alongside with a team of trusted sub-contractors.

Our team operate nationwide day or night, including weekends to meet the needs of our clients.

To do this, we continuously develop our processes and policies, this involves regular staff training and monitoring of current procedures, which enables us to deliver the best possible service.


Since the company was founded, we have managed to build up a reputable brand which has led to us forming excellent working relationships with contractors and sub-contractors alike.

We are always keen to build and develop new working relationships.

To date, we have delivered in excess of one thousand projects for M&S through main contractors, along with projects for other companies.

The projects have ranged from £500 to £3.2 Million.
