Our client is driving new standards in the innovation and design of software solutions across the Education Cashless Catering and Online Payments Sector.

As Product Owner, you will be responsible for delivering value to our customers with both existing and new products.


Working as part of a team and reporting to the Head of Sales this pivotal role will ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the expectations of customers and enable the business to achieve its growth potential.

You must be able to understand customer requirements, commercial demands and business processes in their widest context, allowing you to recommend solutions to issues that others may not be aware of.


JOB PURPOSE:


  • Ensure the delivery of highquality software solutions that meets customer expectations and enables the business to achieve its growth potential
  • Manage all aspects of the prioritisation and design of allocated products to ensure development efforts meet the commercial demands of the business
  • Coordinate the release of allocated products through a robust quality and learning program including internal testing, documentation, training, installation, customer testing and release to market through the appropriate service and sales teams.


In addition to creative flair, this post requires you to have solid communication and articulation skills as well as the ability to multi-task.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide the link between all internal and external customers, including any third party regarding business requirements and software functionality, throughout the release lifecycle, from inception to General Release
  • Management of the Product Backlog, ensuring visibility to all relevant parties
  • Gather and prioritise requirements from all stakeholders including customers and internal teams
  • Working closely and in regular communication (daily) with the developers and testers to provide input on any requirement queries and to review progress
  • Participate in all aspects of the agile development process including daily scrum standups, retrospectives, product demonstrations, management/prioritisation of the product backlog as well as producing the end of sprint demos
  • Determine and assess feasibility and risk of requirements and be able to produce business case justifications to backup recommendations
  • Translate requirements into user stories via regular refinement sessions
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews and product walkthroughs with customers, prospects and stakeholders
  • Be well informed with respect to the competition
  • Manage and support Early Adopter customers, all stakeholders and thirdparty partners regarding business requirements and software functionality
  • Handle customer and staff productrelated enquiries that come into the R&D department
  • Assist in the creation of product documentation for successful release including but not limited to; releases notices, enduser documentation, training and support materials
  • Ensure the sales and marketing teams have collateral for a successful product launch
  • Attend industry conferences and visit customers as and when needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience in a similar product owner role using agile working methodologies
  • Commercially aware with the ability to articulate return on investment for projects undertaken.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Experience of the software development environment such as interfacing with developers and testers
  • Proven ability to multitask, and manage conflicting priorities in a pressurised environment.
  • Demonstrable evidence of analysing and documenting complex business processes.
  • Resultsorientated with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of writing user stories
  • Experience of building product roadmaps
  • Experience of release planning
  • Experience of payment processing systems
  • Desirable.
