We are currently looking to recruit a Property Surveyor to support the Head of Property Services and Principal Surveyor in ensuring the first-class delivery of property consultancy and Estate Management services in support of the Partnership and to manage the operational, non-operational and investment portfolios in a professional and commercially enterprising manner.

This opportunity would suit ether a chartered MRICS surveyor or a surveyor close to becoming chartered through their APC.


This is a core role within the team and will manage several key assignments required under the contractual annual work plan, to include lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews and strategic property advice.

**Job Description:

What you'll be doing:


  • Managing your own caseload of Landlord and Tenant work and general transactional and property consultancy work and to assist and support other team members.
  • Ensuring that client objectives and KPI's are achieved and maintained
  • Undertaking the Council's valuation requirements including general valuation advice, development site valuations, valuations to support regeneration schemes, Right to Buys, Asset Valuations and any other valuations as required.
  • Advising and providing support in relation to any Compulsory Purchase Orders required and to provide valuation advice as required.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Strategic Asset Management Plan and to use professional knowledge and experience to identify innovative proposals for asset management and use of the Council's assets in support of corporate initiatives.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the Output Specification in line with the Council's property needs. To monitor progress of workload against the Specification and take remedial action as appropriate to ensure targets are met.
  • Acting on behalf of the Council as an expert witness at Court Hearings, Tribunals, Public Enquiries and other formal hearings.
  • Supporting the Operations Manager in managing the business e.g. budgetary control, forecasting, billing and reporting.

What we are looking for:


  • Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
  • Extensive Estate management knowledge and proven competency across a range of valuation and property management practices.
  • Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships both within the organisation and with external bodies.
  • Must have good working knowledge of IT systems, including MS Office, dedicated Asset Management programs, databases and valuation software packages.
  • Experience of handling a large and varied caseload for a wide variety of clients.
  • Extensive experience of writing reports which are clear and accessible to a variety of audiences.
  • Analytical skills including the ability to identify trends and developments from data and information and the ability to find solutions to problems.
  • Experience of managing external providers of professional services.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant legislation and the RICS Appraisal and Valuation Manual.
