They will work closely with colleagues in the Digital Learning Team and other teams across the School to ensure a joined-up approach to learning development and delivery.


The successful applicant(s) will have an appreciation of the process of creating learning for a variety of audiences - through different media types.

A key aspect of this role will be the ability to work in partnership with a range of stakeholders in order to create and upload media, but also to have an understanding of administrative processes.


  • Support the Senior Media Producer to deliver a range of media rich and engaging learning activities
  • Support the planning, creation and postproduction of high quality audio and video materials, including the endtoend production of multiple concurrent projects
  • Independently or collaboratively undertake a range of filming activities, ensuring a quality service is sustained and equipment is handled appropriately, in line with departmental operating procedures
  • Create high quality edits from a range of raw footage, including; interviews, scenarios, promotional videos and step by step guides
  • Liaise with stakeholders/ clients throughout all stages of content development and audio visual production, providing updates on project status, including key milestones
  • Support stakeholders by providing technical multimedia related advice throughout the duration of projects
  • With support from the Senior Media Producer, accommodate and incorporate feedback from stakeholders/ clients following initial drafts of film, to reach a desired final product
  • Work collaboratively and independently: rigging; building sets; lighting; shot framing, and audio capture in complex environments
  • Maintain and monitor the condition of all equipment relating to filming and post production, raising any concerns with the Senior Media Producer in a timely manner.

  • Digital Production
  • Alongside the Senior Media Technologist, support the planning, creation and postproduction of high quality audio and video materials, including the endtoend production of multiple concurrent projects
  • Independently or collaboratively undertake a range of filming activities, ensuring a quality service is sustained and equipment is handled appropriately, in line with departmental operating procedures
  • Create high quality edits from a range of raw footage, including; interviews, scenarios, promotional videos and step by step guides
  • Contribute creative ideas when interpreting client briefs and developing storyboards
  • Liaise with stakeholders/ clients throughout all stages of content development and audio visual production, providing updates on project status, including key milestones
  • Support stakeholders by providing technical multimedia related advice throughout the duration of projects
  • With support from the Senior Media Technologist, accommodate and incorporate feedback from stakeholders/ clients following initial drafts of film, to reach a desired final product
  • Work collaboratively with other media departments, including The Christie Communications team, GM Cancer, and other external media teams as required
  • Work collaboratively and independently: rigging; building sets; lighting; shot framing, and audio capture in complex environments
  • Deal with difficult situations in a calm and pleasant manner, and with support, take responsibility to find solutions to complex problems
Administration and service development

  • Casting and hiring of actors for projects via talent agencies
  • Support the maintenance of all multimedia hosting sites in use within the School of Oncology, and contribute to the administration of School virtual learning environments as required
  • Liaise with venues to organise suitable filming locations
  • Maintain accurate records, including project monitoring documentation and consent form
Quality and Governance

  • Ensure General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is adhered to through all activity
