Be involved in setting up a new service for infants and families

Are you an experience neonatal or paediatric Allied Health professional (AHP) looking for a new challenge?

Do you want to work in an evolving specialist area, improving quality and equity of care for families accessing neonatal services?


If so, Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are looking to appoint a team of Neonatal AHPs to ensure infants and families needing care on the neonatal unit get the best possible start.

There is an opportunity to shape the new service as it grows and develops, ensuring that universal, targeted, and specialised AHP services are available for all infants on the neonatal unit.


You will:


  • Develop a strategy for, and deliver Universal, Targeted, and specialised dietetics services, in collaboration with your AHP colleagues from Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
  • Have a passion for working with infants and families
  • Have extensive experience in a paediatric setting
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and skills in the holistic evidencebased assessment and intervention of a diverse range of neonatal early communication, feeding and swallowing including evidence of transferrable skills applicable to the role.
  • Have experience of delivering education at different levels (for example families, students, the wider multidisciplinary team)
  • Demonstrate an interest in service development, audit, and research
