- Calculating and writing programs for CNC machines to fabricate parts to engineering specifications.
- Ensuring the CNC machines operate by the guidelines of the company
- Following established safety and efficiency procedures to ensure that operations run smoothly.
- Performing proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
- Overseeing the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
- Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Recording all machine actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Preparing and loading raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Supervising the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspecting the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of each shift.
- Must be able to write basic programmes for CNC machines.
- Prior experience setting and operating machinery.
- Be able to read mechanical blueprints.
