Job summary:


Allen Lane is supporting the Cabinet Office in their search for a new Head of Security Architecture on a permanent basis.


The Head of Security Architecture is responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise security architecture strategy, framework and roadmap across Cabinet Office.

This role requires a deep understanding of the enterprise security landscape, policies and procedures with a strong background in cyber security.


This vacancy is available in the following Cabinet Office locations, with 2 days per week expected in the office: London, Glasgow, Bristol, Manchester.


Job description:


Key Responsibilities for the Head of Security Architecture:

  • Design and implementation of enterprise security architecture roadmap for the organisation.
  • Manage a team of architects to deliver security requirements aligned with the organisation's strategic goals, objectives and risk management framework.
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, and procedures related to enterprise security architecture.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with Digital initiatives.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analyses, and make recommendations for security solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the security operations team in incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Person specification:


  • Minimum of 10 years solid experience in security with 5 years of experience in enterprise security architecture in largescale organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security best practices, frameworks, and principles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills and ability to present technical information effectively to nontechnical audiences.
  • Proven track record of implementing enterprise security architecture solutions that adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • SABSA, CISSP, CISM or other security certifications are preferred.
