Climate17 are exclusively partnered with a fast growing, innovative renewable energy company who are actively developing a substantial pipeline of UK based solar farm and energy storage assets.


Following an investment announcement and continued growth, the company is expanding with an exciting opportunity for a Civil CAD Designer who will provide support to the wider Development Team in tracking technical design risk with projects and producing drawings,plans and 3D models to further take their projects to a successful consent.


Responsibilities

  • Management of project technical risk relating to civil design and the mitigation of these risks where appropriate, using internal team and consultants.
  • Manage technical design risk relating access, ground conditions and other civil related matters
  • Create mapbased plans using raster and vector data including contour and DTM/ DSM information in AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Procuring desk top site investigation materials.
  • Liaising with relevant technical stakeholders such as Highways Dept.
  • The creation of maps and plans in AutoCAD or MicroStation in accordance with company CAD standards.
  • Creation and maintenance of template drawing library updated as per supplied product specifications.
  • Creation and amendment of maps and plans as required by Development Team members including: Option and Lease plans, Planning Application drawings (including annotated maps, GA drawings, sections and details)
  • Creation of site layouts in CAD, PVSyst or PVCase.

Requirements:


  • Degree educated Civil Engineer or similar
  • Experience of managing risk and creating records to track risk
  • Experienced CAD user from the built environment or energy arenas.
  • Good map and geospatial appreciation, types, uses and how to interact with and use 3D data (topographical / DTM / DSM) and some understanding of GIS.
  • PVSyst use or similar an advantage but training can be given.
  • Ability in 2D and 3D design in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Map 3D or MicroStation.
  • A passion for renewable energy, with the ability to multitask and manage effectively and accurately in a deadlinedriven, challenging environment.
