    Qualified Teacher Pay Range and TLR 1D (currently £9,272 p.a.)

    An opportunity has arisen within our successful and highly skilled team for a teacher to join our school as a Pastoral Leader (Head of Year). At Turton our children are fiercely loyal, and so we are looking for someone who is just as committed to them.

    Our pastoral team is unique in that it consists of teaching and non-teaching experts, who work together to provide exceptional care for our students; and pastoral care is at the heart of our school. The Student Support Centre houses a large team of bespoke, highly-skilled and experienced mentors, with a variety of expertise, including a dedicated mental-health nurse. Our pastoral leaders are all teachers, with a significant amount of non-contact time, to reflect the complex and fast-moving pace of the role. The pastoral team work out of a central base, in order to facilitate clear and consistent communication.

    Any pastoral position is highly fluid, but the things we can guarantee are:

    Turton is an oversubscribed and high-achieving 11-18 school of 1650 students, with 300 in the Sixth Form.

    We are an innovative Leadership Team, looking at creative and exciting approaches to teaching and learning, in order to engage and challenge both staff and students.
