    We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Tenant Services Team as an Assistant Housing Officer.

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to join our Housing Services Team as a Trainee Housing Officer. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their career in housing but has not got direct experience of being a housing officer. With the implementation of the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023 and the transformation of the Housing Service underway, there has never been a more exciting time to join the team.

    This role is initially offered on a six-month fixed term contract / secondment. If extended, once competencies have been achieved, the banding will increase. This is a career graded post.

    Your role:

    The successful candidate will assist the letting of properties in a given area patch and to provide a proactive and efficient housing management service for residents.

    What you will need:

    The post holder will have previous experience of working in a Housing environment and have good knowledge of Housing Law, Housing Benefit Regulations, and Welfare rights. The candidate will have used software systems in day to day duties and dealt with the public in difficult situations.

    The majority of our teams are working in an agile way, with a mixture of home and office working, depending on individual preferences and service requirements.
