    Description

    Pyrland School, part of the Richard Huish Trust, is looking to appoint a committed, caring and inspirational professional to fill the role of Teacher of Science from September 2024. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with a passion for science and the ability to motivate and enthuse students, deepening their knowledge and understanding. In addition to this, the successful teacher will manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, respectful and nurturing environment so that students can focus on learning.

    The academy is on journey of improvement and has a strong staff team in place to ensure every child is enabled to fulfil their potential. We have excellent pastoral support and our students report that they feel happy and safe at the school. We are proud of our students and the relationships between staff and students are strong. Community engagement is also an important feature; a recent poll showed a high degree of parental satisfaction. Pyrland School is a Church of England voluntary aided mainstream secondary school academy We have close links with the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

    Pyrland School is an 11-16 academy in the north of Taunton. With modern, impressive facilities, the academy currently caters for approximately 890 students, with an increasing roll anticipated to see numbers rise to in the region of 1200 over the next few years. Taunton is Somerset's county town and has easy access to the M5. Somerset is a lovely place to live with the stunning Somerset Levels, Quantock Hills and Blackdowns on your doorstep.
