The North Lincolnshire Care Group at Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust would like to offer an opportunity for a full time Employment Specialist to join our Community Mental Health Team.

We offer Individual Placement & Support for patients with mental health problems.

Our vision for this service is to enable people with mental health problems to be able to enjoy a good quality of life, reduce health inequalities, remain independent and in control, be included as members of society and, most importantly, realise their potential for recovery.

The service was launched in June 2020 and has been a great success

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Help patients to identify and consider options for returning to work and staying in work, and set their own personal job
  • Ensure patients have access to employment law advice and are supported to exercise their rights under the Equality Act; working closely with employers where necessary on complex job retention issues, including cases of
  • Teach employability skills to patients on a onetoone basis and in group workshops where necessary (e.g. CVs, interview skills, )
  • Keep up to date with local and national labour market trends, education/training opportunities, welfare benefit changes, and employment law in relation to people with mental health conditions.
  • Work as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise, and contributing to team meetings and service development activities.
