    Selecta is the largest provider of unattended self-serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. We are hiring a Category Data Leader to join our team to be responsible for all areas of category data analysis for the UK&I procurement team, developing analysis & insight into F&B products within Selecta's product range.

    Scope of the Role:

    The Category Leader will be responsible for all areas of category data analysis & development for the UK&I procurement & category management team. These include but are not limited to:

    • Maintenance & management of key procurement & category management data & reporting
    • Lead on the analysis of spend; supplier performance & Selecta internal category data (e.g. product sales performance)
    • Driving improvement initiatives which challenge 'the norm' on how the business uses & maintains category data
    • Driving initiatives to develop best in class planograms and implementation within the business

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Category Management - To develop and implement the category strategy ensuring it is aligned with the overall business objectives by maintaining and developing best in class planograms, implement and manage the pricing strategy whilst also tracking and reporting on gross margin at product, sector, and category level.
    • Market & Commercial insight - Our Category Data Leader will be the expert in delivering insight through internal and external analysis along with developing and maintain a level of awareness of market trends to identify & recommend sourcing of all goods and services.
    • Supplier Management - Support the procurement team in developing & maintaining strong, positive relationships with Selecta suppliers.
    • Collating & Analysing procurement data - Working closely with the wider procurement team to record, maintain and analyse product data & ensuring product data & reporting is available in a timely fashion. Master data management incudes, but is not limited to, maintaining and regularly reviewing allergens, nutritional data & product information compliant to all H&S regulations.
    • Reporting - Maintaining & running all relevant reporting to the procurement department (Performance Trackers; Spend & Supplier Data; Sales out data relating to value, volume, rate of sale & general performance of products) to provide insight across the impulse; hot drinks & wholesale categories.
    • Project Management - To deliver category projects (e.g. NPD rollouts or M&A integration) as and when required, on time and against budget, ensuring relevant engagement with key stakeholders and management of potential risks.
    • Management and administration - To maintain accurate, clear, concise documents, keep records of all decisions taken, parties engaged in decision making and ensure all actions, logs and registers are complete and accurate with entries being made in a timely fashion.
    • Business partnering - To engage and support relevant internal & key external stakeholders offering category expertise, insight & recommendations in interpreting procurement contractual arrangements. Whilst also working closely with the wider procurement team to improve & develop procurement processes.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as a Category Manager/ Data Analyst within a procurement & category management environment in the FMCG sector, preferably in food & beverage.
    • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, solving issues and managing changing needs & priorities
    • Evidence of working in a business with expectations of high customer service levels
    • Strong intermediate MS Excel skills and proficient general IT skills along with excellent analytical, numerical and planning skills
    • Strong influencing & negotiation skills with the ability to build trusting relationships & partnerships quickly
    • Ability to deal with multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritise and organise work to be able to meet all deadlines
    • An enquiring mind, able to cut through to identify root causes of any issues and formulate a plan of action to address the causes
    • Proactive character, able to take the initiative and resolve issues swiftly and effectively
    • A keen eye for detail, able to analyse large amounts of data, yet also to identify key trends, extract value & articulate findings to key stakeholders
    • Ability to explain complex or detailed concepts rationally with facts, figures and other supporting evidence and convince parties with differing views of an agreed way forward
    • Ability to think at strategic level and translate into pragmatic plans for implementation
    • Self-motivated to complete all tasks to a high level and with close attention to detail
