About the role
We have an amazing opportunity for a
CCTV Control Room Operator to join our
Asset & Technology Solutions Team, based at our CCTV Centre of Excellence facility in Derby.
Our CCTV Centre of Excellence facility deploys the latest digital security and CCTV assets, including traffic management to projects across the UK.
What you'll be doing
As a
CCTV Control Room Operator you will operate and maintain all CCTV surveillance equipment, providing pro-active and reactive monitoring of CCTV cameras to assist with the detection of crime, antisocial behaviour and to support the reduction of crime, disorder and the fear of crime.
watching both live and recorded video footage, and making appropriate pro-active and reactive responses by reporting incidents or suspicious behaviour, contacting the authorities when necessary.
Other key responsibilities will be:
- Observing both live and recorded video footage, making appropriate proactive and reactive responses
- Monitor, and communicate with our highways projects, supporting the works by arranging recovery, and liaising with third party agencies to keep the motorway running smoothly and safely.
- Maintain a close liaison with the Control Rooms, police personnel and CCTV partners in relation to any incidents.
- Supply extracts from CCTV recordings to support investigations and evidence inline with security procedures.
- Understands and keep up to date with current security, GDPR procedures and CCTV codes of practice, ensuring that standards are maintained.
Who we're looking for We are looking for the following**:
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights and adapt to business needs
- To be flexible and willing to occasionally take part in activities outside of your normal working hours. E.g. training, meetings
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- IT literate
- Understands the basic Company Protocols with regard to Accidents and Incidents reporting
- Uncompromising approach to the implementation of safe systems of work
- Good working knowledge of current H & S legislation
- Where possible, adopts an innovative approach to enhancing safe systems of work
- Experienced in the delivery of engaging toolbox talks
As a CCTV Control Room Operator you will be required to work unsociable hours/nights and take part in training outside of normal working hours.
