Electricity North West is looking for an experienced Cable Jointer to join our inclusive and collaborative team in Walkden.The role comes with a generous salary, many excellent benefits and the chance to progress your career at a thriving, progressive company.
As an authorised Cable Jointer, you will be required to work on the ENWL underground electricity distribution network under both live and dead conditions.
In your first few weeks in this Cable Jointer role, you can expect to:
- Address street furniture faults, replacing single and three-phase service terminations, finding and repairing customer services, restoring supplies to multiple customers including LV operations and repairing high-voltage cables
- Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments and raise permits
- Use disc cutters, breakers hand tools and mini diggers to excavate in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice to provide access to our network in readiness for all aspects of jointing work.
You will also need to be customer-focused with the ability to communicate clearly and be willing to work outside in all weathers with some anti-social hours.
In addition, you should be in possession of a full UK driving licence and be well-organised, self-motivated and happy working as part of a team.
Other essential requirements include:
- Ability to complete paperwork relating to workbased activities
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent
- Relevant City and Guilds level 2 qualification
- Distribution Network Operator LV jointing authorisations.
