A leading Financial Services company is looking to hire a Data Architect who will establish a clear platform for execution of their Data Strategy and participate in complex, multi-disciplinary projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a small team of Data Architects and developing them
  • Act as the chief advisor on data technologies, trends, and patterns to the CDO, the Chief Architect, the CIO, and other key senior stakeholders
  • Communicate Enterprise Data Architecture to business and IT colleagues, ensuring they are educated and advocate the principles and strategy
  • Mapping of key data flows through the organisation to be used alongside capabilities and value streams to help determine strategy and investment and for the business reporting and insight need
  • Working with the Principal Data Modeler, define and source the data needed to meet business needs
  • Develop hypotheses, point of view and guidance on key aspects of driving value of data. Examples of this include MDM, Data Science and Data Mesh, but in essence, it is about ensuring we realise the value of the data we have
  • Experience and understanding of the difference between Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data modelling
  • Producing logical and physical data flow diagrams
  • Working with stakeholders to communicate the value of architecture and design.
  • Working with stakeholders to support them in producing detailed deliverables in line with standards and guidelines
  • Continuously keep aligned with Data Technology trends for consideration to our data platform landscape
  • Be a global data cheerleader / champion for Data by positively marketing the Data Office and Architecture Functions

Key Skills:
Experience of a complex and regulated industry, insurance or financial services preferred

  • Experience of large transformation programmes, be that at any level of involvement
  • Experience as a data architect, demonstrating handson experience in enterprise data architecture, data warehousing, data modelling and/or data analysis
  • Experience in building data and analytics in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • An understanding of a variety of data access and analytics patterns, such as 3NF and Data Vault
  • Management and development of people, ensuring a good culture is established, both in terms of line management and distributed teams
