    Data Strategy Manager (AIS & Radio Frequency)

    Salary: £70,000 - £75,000

    Position Overview: This position offers an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented individual with a passion for large datasets and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience with AIS and other tracking methodologies, coupled with a blend of commercial acumen and technological proficiency, ready to drive impactful changes from day one.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Drive the data strategy by implementing a program of improvements over the next 3-5 years, aligning with the overall group and business strategies.

    2. Oversee AIS (terrestrial and satellite), non-AIS (RF, imaging, etc.), and human validation processes as part of the data strategy.

    3. Develop compelling business cases for enhancement projects, showcasing data quality and differentiation from competitors, and present them to senior leadership for approval.

    4. Collaborate with the Programme Management team to devise project plans and mobilize matrix teams for successful project execution.

    5. Stay updated on competitor and subject matter advances in maritime tracking by actively participating in conferences, webinars, and industry events.

    6. Monitor data quality of existing tracking systems and identify opportunities for improvement, presenting findings to senior management.

    7. Ensure all key supplier relationships managed by the team adhere to up-to-date agreements approved with the legal team.

    8. Provide expert support to stakeholders during customer engagements, including calls and visits, leveraging domain expertise as needed.

    9. Work closely with Product Management to provide insights into system capabilities and enhancements.

    10. Support client tender processes with subject matter expertise to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

    Qualifications:

    Essential:

    1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in analyzing data from cargo tracking and RF sources.

    2. Solid understanding of the technical foundations of tracking, RF, and imaging data, including collection, relay, processing, and database management.

    3. Innovative and dynamic approach to problem-solving.

    4. Strong project management skills, including the ability to articulate business justifications, build timelines, and manage risks effectively.

    5. Proven stakeholder management skills across all areas of the business, facilitating relationship building at all levels.

    6. Confident presentation skills for internal and external audiences, including senior leadership.

    Desirable:

    1. Understanding of local data protection laws related to AIS tracking data and its use.

    3. Experience in preparing procurement tenders and assessing applicants for contract awards.

    4. Experience in resolving complex customer queries regarding movements and AIS.
