    A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work for Southern Health Foundation Trust working as a skilled Electrician in the Estates team, covering various sites across Hampshire. We are looking for someone that can be flexible and proactive, have good communication skills and an understanding of health and safety requirements. You will help to create the safe environment that will enable us to give our service users and staff the quality, care and support they deserve.

    Main duties of the job

    Key activities/responsibilities will be to carry out and/or oversee the repair/maintenance/installation of complex plant and equipment. This will involve a multi-skilled approach as well as the full range of duties associated with the post holder's primary trade as an Electrician. This will include planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair works across varying systems, acting as an Authorised Person (AP) in LV Electrical to include the issuing of permits to work, carrying out electrical shutdowns in a compliant and recorded manner to assist with Maintenance works or larger Capital Project works.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • An electrical background with an NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma, or equivalent qualification in an appropriate, electrically biased engineering discipline.
  • Able to fault-find, diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Driving License.
