    Who we are

    Deka Chambers is a leading common law set comprising 108 barristers including 16 market leading Silks. Our members offer the range, scale and depth to lead the most complex cases across civil, criminal and family law. We are based in modern offices with state of the art facilities, offering views over the London cityscape.

    The role

    Reporting to the marketing manager, and working closely with the directors, clerks and members of chambers, this is a varied and fast-paced role planning and implementing Deka's broad range of marketing activities.

    Main responsibilities

    Events:

    • Take ownership on planning marketing events in chambers, including social events and seminars, overseeing the process from start to finish. To include room booking, sending invitations and managing RSVPs, liaising with internal and external speakers, booking catering.
    • Attend events in chambers to ensure the smooth running of logistics. To include room set up, checking technical requirements, overseeing the registration of attendees and coordinating catering requirements.
    • Assist in sourcing and booking venues for externally held events.
    • Assist with event follow up and feedback activities.
    • Coordinate Deka's attendance at externally run conferences.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of Deka's webinar programme.
    • Coordinate bookings for conferences and awards ceremonies.

    Digital Marketing:

    • Update barrister and staff profiles on the website, upload news items and articles, and help to ensure the other core areas of the website are accurate and up to date at all times.
    • Create social media posts. Monitor Deka's social channels, keep profiles up to date and respond to notifications.
    • Use Lex to collate client lists and send out newsletters, briefings and event invites.

    Directory and Awards submissions:

    • Work with members of chambers to collate and process their legal directory submissions.
    • Arrange interviews for barristers to speak to the directories during the research process.
    • Recognise opportunities for industry awards and assist in compiling submissions.

    Marketing collateral:

    • Create marketing materials, including newsletters, briefings and event invitations, using Publisher, Canva and Lex.
    • Ensure everything produced adheres to the Deka brand guidelines.
    • Keep an inventory of all promotional merchandise, research and propose additional ideas and place orders.
    • Assist members with their PowerPoint presentations.

    Stakeholder management:

    • Liaise with members to encourage participation in marketing activities and events.
    • Attend practice group meetings.
    • Manage relationships with external suppliers.

    Administrative duties:

    • Maintain the marketing database.
    • Adhere to budgets and process orders and invoices in a timely manner.
    • Assist in producing marketing plans and schedules.

    Who we are looking for

    This is a diverse and fast-paced role which requires a strong set of skills, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral). Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail are also essential. In addition, you will need:

    • Prior marketing experience, preferably gained in a professional services environment
    • Prior events management experience
    • Proficiency across MS Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • A proactive, creative and enthusiastic approach
    • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
    • Familiarity with WordPress would be an advantage
    • Familiarity with Lex would be an advantage

    This is a full time, permanent position, working 9.00am – 5.30pm (with occasional work beyond these hours to attend events).

    • Salary: £37,500 per annum
