    EC&I Design Manager - Contract - Inside IR


    Location:
    Nuclear Facility, Cheshire


    Salary:
    £55-£60ph Inside IR35 (Umbrella take home £1385pw-£1504pw)

    Hours: 38.75 hours per week (8/8.30am starts)

    Contract / Permanent:
    Contract - 12 months minimum - likely to extend


    Site Based / Office / Remote: Site - 3/2 split - Site/WFH - but this is to be discussed at interview stage depending on workload.

    Job Overview:


    Our client, a trusted long-term supplier to the nuclear industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium enrichment services, are looking for a Design Manager on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst near Chester.


    In this role, you will set the overall technical direction for projects and act as a key decision maker, ensuring a suitable balance between all potentially conflicting drivers is achieved.


    To oversee the development of design delivery schedules, ensuring all relevant disciplines are accounted for, and to manage the interface between these disciplines throughout the design development.


    To represent the project from a technical perspective at key stakeholder meetings, having overall oversight of the basis for key design decisions, and a detailed understanding of the technical position of the project.


    Rate:
    £55-60 Umbrella (Inside IR35)

    What will your day look like?

    Identification of proportionate and appropriate design solutions
    Ensuring appropriate stakeholder engagement in projects
    Ensuring a joined up approach between engineering disciplines is achieved
    Ensuring logical, achievable, integrated cross-discipline schedules are developed
    Accountable for monitoring delivery of the technical aspects of projects in line with the agreed scope and schedule. Ensuring any deviance is appropriately justified, understood and managed
    Escalating issues where resource conflicts between projects exist

    What do you need to be great at this role?

    A minimum of 4 years' experience in an engineering position
    Experience of leading teams to deliver technical packages of work
