Description

At Hunterston B Power Station, we're currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as the Site Transition and Transfer Lead within the Transfer and Deconstruction Preparations Department.

In the role, you'll be working on the seamless transition of the station from operational defueling to deconstruction as well as the corresponding transfer of the nuclear site licence and environmental permits to a new licensee.

You'll be working closely with our central programme team on the programme design for this work, as well as ensuring the site-specific aspects of the programme are successfully implemented.

There are a variety of stakeholders in addition to this team, such as external regulators and other Station Leads, where your positive relationships will be key.

Due to this, you need to be a strong influencer, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple work streams.

This advert will close on Monday 3rd April.

Pay, benefits and culture

We can offer a salary from £50,672 - £92,064 and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

We'll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely delivering the full lifecycle of the Transition & Transfer project within defined time, cost and quality parameters
  • Securing funding for assigned projects and controlling scope and cost to the agreed project baseline
  • Establishing and developing long term relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure full engagement with the work being delivered
  • Ensuring compliance with all processes and procedures for the project
  • Monitoring performance of individual projects and leading interventions as necessary
  • Ensuring that a health and safety framework is in place
  • Identifying risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Minimising the project risks and maximising opportunities.

Who you are

As a minimum, you will be educated to HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and holding a relevant degree may be an advantage.

APMP qualified and RPP is desirable and you must be fully versed in modern project management techniques within complex, multi-functional organisations and have a demonstrable record of success in leading complex major projects and multiple project portfolios in an operational environment, preferably in the nuclear industry.

Demonstrable experience and use of office IT packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and industry planning tools is important, alongside a working knowledge of relevant health, safety and environment legislation.

We'd like to see you demonstrate a contagious vision, drive and energy, alongside an analytical approach and high-level problem-solving ability.

Good commercial, contractual and financial awareness, ideally with a working knowledge of the AM processes, is also essential.

You should be results focussed but have your team at the centre of your approach, where your excellent communication skills will be paramount.
