    Purpose of the role

    The C opy E xact (CE) Materials & Planning Engineer is a key role withing the CE team and its overall success in managing our top customer. This role will involve working with different departments within KLA Newport. The primary focus of the role with be the liaison between CE and the purchasing, commodity, spares and logistics, global warehouse teams. This role requires collaborative skills to form small teams to ensure we have the vital material to build top customer systems across our range of process applications. In addition, there will also be the requirement to discuss component change with our customers to reassure on our due diligence and dedication on quality and manufacturability. This is an exciting new role within the company and will therefore be developed over the next few years.

    Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with Purchasing, Commodity, Spare Parts and Global Warehouse teams on all top customer CE related topics
  • Controls the ring fencing of parts for future tool build and last time buy of components nearing obsolescence
  • Ensures the top customer are insulated from EOL by maintaining accurate spares stock
  • Collaborates with Planning to ensure Long Lead time components are procured for forecasted top customer systems
  • Works with Purchasing and Commodity Teams to minimise supplier risks
  • Assists in negotiations of revised Purchase Agreements for our Suppliers
  • Works with CE Manufacturing Engineers to audit our Suppliers 'Change Control' processes and ensure they are doing the same with their suppliers.
  • Works with Spares and Logistics teams to ensure accurate spares accuracy and quantity are held in remote locations
  • Assists with transition to eQuality or if we remain using SFOL, the introduction of CE elements to support this requirement
  • Works with our Shipping team to ensure accuracy of everything being supplied to top customer

  • Has a solid engineering background.
  • Understands the challenges with both Supply Chain and Purchasing processes
  • Is comfortable participating in both technical discussions and presentations with our customer, suppliers and collaborators throughout our top customer Support Team
  • Can travel at short notice to suppliers and our customer when needed
  • Can provide ideas and suggestions for solutions to logistics problems
  • Has a forward thinking approach, crucial when assisting with the planning of material for future builds to facilitate CE compliance
