Job summary:


In support of the Intelligent Customer Group (ICG) assist in the definition, monitoring and assurance of service delivery from Naval Base Commander (NBC) Devonport's Service Provider (SP).

Ensure it meets NBC(D)'s requirements and fulfils the directorate objective with particular responsibility for Storage, Distribution & Unstow support. Act as the designated Authorised Demanding Officer (ADO) for the Tri-Service Materials Handling contract. Warehousing & Distribution Projects officer for the Service Delivery Manager (SDM).

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


Job description:


Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance in distribution, unstow and storekeeping practice, driving best practice and ensuring value for money.
  • Monitor activity to ensure that the condition and sustainability of assets and equipment is not jeopardised.
  • Act as ADO for Yellow Fleet ensure operational performance is not affected by Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) maintenance and that no Key Performance Indicator (KPI) failures are attributed to MHE failure.
  • Review and authorise non fair wear and tear expenditure.
  • Undertake monthly data gathering i.e., Forklift Truck (FLT) meter readings and supply statistics to Yellow Fleet contractor.
  • Liaise with NBC (D)'s customers to assess customer satisfaction and engage the SP to effect improvement if required.
  • Liaise with the Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Business Development teams and the SP to facilitate the introduction of new Authority systems.
  • Monitor customer complaints relevant to logistics Distribution and Unstow activity to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Act as focal point for the provision of the South West Regional Distribution service.
  • Maintain the NBC (D) storage utilisation data and liaise with the SP and contribute to maintaining the joint Devonport storage utilisation database.
  • Monitor customer complaints relevant to the Yellow Fleet contract to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Interface between SP and Yellow Fleet contractor arranging and monitoring unplanned maintenance and changes of requirements.
  • Act as MOD focal point for Container control & refurbishment and the manufacture of cases.
  • Authority oversight and management of (Devonport Engineering Logistics Programme) DELP hours including monthly meetings with Babcock to discuss output.
  • Building Controller for building N230.

Person specification:

Line management experience.

Competent in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
