    Our client are an Electro-mechanical engineering business who, to further their ambitious growth plans, are looking to appoint an Installation Engineer

    With good practical hands-on Mechanical or Electrical engineering skill and an openness to travel (this role will be based on the road for around 50% of the time and will frequently involve nights away from home, sometimes concurrently), this role could be for you

    The appointed Installation Engineer will work alongside internal design and quality teams and external contract fitting teams to personally fit the company's system whilst on site with customers.

    There will also be ad hoc trouble-shooting as required on some installation projects. Common sense, excellent communication skills, and a naturally practical nature are essential. Whilst a hands-on practical role in the field there is maintenance documentation to complete when on site, and some workshop based assembly and testing to be done on the equipment prior to customer visits.

    You will be responsible for all aspects of the integration of the system into a variety of environments. This will include understanding customer requirements, generating appropriate solutions whilst on site, minor installation design if needed, providing hands on support during installation, and verification and validation processes before sign off. Full training will be given on the system prior to visiting clients on site.

    Your Role and Responsibilities:
    * Provide technical support to the internal design and quality teams, and external customers, on the correct method of assembly and installation of the system
    * Involvement in predelivery inspection of the system and associated components before attending site
    * Configuring and calibrating the system to meet the required performance
    * Final commissioning and final sign off back into regular service
    * Supervising the first off type installation of systems and subsequent training of external installation teams to carry out repeat installations

    Your Skills and Abilities:
    * An electrical or mechanical engineering qualification and / or apprenticeship
    * A natural flair for practical work. Good with hands, lots of common sense
    * Experience of working in a proactive and dynamic engineering environment with priorities sometimes changing quickly, and some travel planned with relatively short notice
    * Happy with approximately 50% of time spent on the road, including some overnight stays
    * Experienced with diagnosis and fault finding on electrical systems preferred
    * Experience in programming and configuring software would be an advantage but is not expected
    * Previous experience in completing technical installation and service documentation would be beneficial but is not expected
