Position Summary:
Based at our Distribution Center, the
Distribution Shift Leader, will have responsibility for the quality and provision of picked and packed stock, received and dispatched product, ready for on time delivery to both inland and overseas customers.
Working closely with the Team Leader, you will be focused on ensuring that materials and products are put away, picked, packed, handled, stored and accurately maintained at all times, the warehouse organized in the safest, most efficient way and items processed following a hierarchical Safety, Quality and Delivery (SQD) model.
This is achieved by first line leadership of flexible, highly engaged and empowered teams across multiple shifts, ensuring that capacity is handled to meet the plan, and defined procedures are always followed in order to deliver product safely, correctly and efficiently at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Safety, Quality (RFT), Delivery (LOTIF), Cost and Inventory elements within the team, working closely with the Warehouse & Stock Management Team Leader to provision and report out routinely on KPI's and recovery plans where vital.
- Supervise daytoday work plans & resource planning in the department to ensure all Stock management Replenishment, Put away, Receipts, Deliveries/Pick Pack demands are met.

- Perform daily stock movement/management activities as required to support the team.
- Carry out daily direction/plans for teams by ensuring effective tiered meetings take place, participating and leading Tier 2 & supporting Tier 3 meetings as required.
- Ensure the house keeping standards and organisational activities are maintained at all times.
- Rolemodel the Thermo Fisher Scientific 4I Values, leading by example with a safetyfirst attitude, constantly challenging to enhance processes with continuous improvement and supporting effective organizational change.
- Work closely with the Distribution Team Leaders/Supervisors to lead/support the problem solving of issues using a RCCM approach, in a calm and professional manner, providing clear, concise and appropriate feedback.
- Drive department Gembas, Standard Work, Training, WI's and SOP's to ensure all are current, up to date and in use, providing a repeatable and stable structure in the warehouse team.
- Work closely with the Distribution Team Leaders/Supervisors to plan the onboarding and ongoing training of new starters. Agree training plans for the upskilling of all team members to optimise flexibility, team efficiency and engagement.
- Deputise for the Distribution Team Leader/Supervisor when required to ensure output and performance are sustained.

- Strong organizational skills for coordinating and delivering training at multiple levels
- Criminal background and security checks in accordance with Known Consignor requirements.
- Encouraged to sign dangerous goods transportation documents taking legal responsibility for their packaging and presentation to the carrier.
