- Leadand manage the History department providing guidance support andprofessional development opportunities forteachers
- Develop and implement an engaging andrigorous History curriculum in line with national standards and theschools educational vision
- Monitor and evaluatethe quality of teaching and learning within the departmentimplementing improvement strategies
- Create apositive and inclusive learning environment where students feelinspired challenged and supported
- Maintainstrong relationships with students parents and stakeholders keepingthem informed of students progress andachievements
- Stay updated with the latestdevelopments in history education incorporating innovative teachingapproaches and resources
- Collaborate with otherdepartment heads and the senior leadership team to promotecrosscurricular initiatives and enhance the overall educationalprovision
- Adegree in History or a related field
- QualifiedTeacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification ineducation or leadership
- Proven experience as aHistory teacher with a track record of delivering excellentresults
- Leadership experience ideally as a Headof Department or in a similar leadershiprole
- Thorough knowledge and understanding ofthe history curriculum and assessmentrequirements
- Strong leadership and managementskills with the ability to inspire and motivate ateam
- Excellent communication and interpersonalskills with the ability to build positive relationships withstakeholders
- Passion for history education anda commitment to enhancing students understanding and appreciationof the subject
- Strategic thinking andproblemsolving abilities
- Experience working ina school setting preferably in a similar educationalenvironment
