Main Purpose of the Job

  • To provide support to the Finance Manager in all areas as directed.
  • To provide a point of contact for the Treasurer in the absence of the Finance Manager.
  • To ensure the maintenance and accuracy of accounting records and systems operated within the Club in accordance with Club policies and procedures.
  • To produce detailed, accurate and timely balance sheet and ledger reconciliations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for all aspects of the accounting processes for review by the Finance Manager.
  • To prepare the daily bank reconciliation as required, check daily end of day reports.
  • To post monthly prepayments and accruals, and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
  • To undertake the preparation and completion of the fortnightly payroll and associated tasks as required.
  • To reconcile and maintain daily, specific control accounts as detailed by the Finance Manager.
  • Responsible for the Purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are uploaded with correct nominal and vat codes. Statements reconciled monthly and twice monthly payment run prepared with all invoices correctly authorised for the Finance Manager to approve.
  • Raise invoices for functions and events and post to the sales ledger, ensuring all payments are received by the due date.
  • Reconciling members swipe card balances, deducting or adding charges and chasing any that are overdrawn.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • To supply stock taker with invoices and reports for the period.
  • To provide support, assistance and cover for other accounting duties in the absence of other members of the team.
  • To ensure good working relationships with customers, suppliers, Club members and other members of staff are maintained at all times
  • To maintain a high standard of personal appearance.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy working environment to the standard set by the Club.
  • To be prepared to work additional hours, with reasonable notice, if requested by the Finance Manager.
  • To perform any other reasonable duties requested by the Finance Manager

£24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
