My Nottinghamshire based client is now looking for a Transport Planner to join their busy team.

The role will require an experienced Transport Planner with strong knowledge of Health and Safety and experience in recording Tachographs, managing staff holiday and working rotas, customer demands and company KPI's, This is a varied and very busy role so you need to be someone who enjoys the challenges that this brings with it.

Salary expectation is circa £24,000 - £27,000.

Work hours are 9 hours a day plus 1 hour non paid lunch Monday to Friday and a Saturday 6-11 every 5 weeks.


Below is a list of some of the responsibilities you can expect with the role.

  • Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents in a timely manner
  • Liaison with fleet to ensure effective vehicle resources are available
  • Supervise vehicle availability and driver's daily vehicle checks.
  • Ensure that mandatory training, induction and toolbox talks are delivered in line with company policy
  • Monitor service levels and suggest corrective action where appropriate.
  • Plan and mobilise resources according to customer needs, often to strict and demanding deadlines.
  • Ensure core performance metrics are met and wherever possible exceeded.
  • Support the optimisation of resources and review the operations to support & improve profitability and customer service.
  • Maintains adherence to the relevant legislative requirements and Company procedures and standards (including health and safety, personnel, finance and transport)
  • Promote and assist with all health and safety aspects to ensure that all drivers have correct PPE/uniform supplied, records accidents, hazards and near misses and ensuring appropriate follow up actions, with support from the service delivery manager.
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with transport and environmental legislation.
