We are looking for a dedicated and passionate person who has:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades C and above (or equivalent), including Math, English and Science.
- Experience of working in a school or with children or young people.
- Strong communication skills.
- A genuine enthusiasm to work with children.
- Skills to adapt to meet the needs of our pupils, either in 1:1, small or larger group settings.
- Capacity to tutor online if necessary.
- Able to use technology confidently

Bouncing Statistics is a local community interest company based in Birmingham that exists to support and develop young people aged between 4-25 to 'bounce statistics' and achieve greatness despite any advertise, stereotypes, or barriers they have to overcome.
Bouncing Statistics has partnered with notable organisations such as the National Health Service (NHS) and the West Midlands Police, facilitating community events, delivering training to police offers, and building bridges between the community and the police via specific school workshops.
In addition, Bouncing Statistics has liaised with many other organisations in and around Birmingham with the view of increasing engagement to reach the goal of 250,000 engagement by 2030.All with the view of aiding and supporting the upcoming generations to 'bounce their statistic'.
JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE:
Tutor
SALARY SCALE:
£15-£21 p/hr
- To be responsible for ensuring learning gaps are narrowed for pupils.
- To promote the general development and wellbeing of individual pupils.
- It is essential to follow the remit and systems of accountability related to the company's commitments and priorities.
Main Areas of Responsibility and Accountability
- As a tutor and small group teacher.
- Deliver 1:1 and small group tuition for targeted pupils at all key stages.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work for pupils assigned to them, in keeping with the policies and programmes of study in force by the company.
- Prepare tuition sessions according to pupils' needs and targets as established in conjunction with the relevant class teacher.
- Developing out of hours' school learning including homework.
- Monitor pupil performance. Maintain records of pupils' assessment results, progress, feedback, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
- Keep careful records of tuition, undertake assessment, track pupil's progress, and prepare succinct reports for the Tutoring Manager.
- Participate in training and development sessions to improve tutoring practices or learn new tutoring techniques.
- A commitment to safeguarding all pupils. Participate in training and development sessions on safeguarding that ensure that online safety is delivered in accordance with the company's Acceptable use of ICT and Safeguarding Policy.
