The local Clinical Research Networks drive clinical research delivery performance and champion the role of clinical research in the NHS at every level.

The CRN West of England has six Assistant/Research Delivery Managers (A/RDMs) who oversee this function within six clinical divisions, and the role of Research Portfolio Facilitator will be pivotal to the day-to-day monitoring of performance and clinical engagement.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) coordinates and supports the delivery of clinical research in the NHS and the wider health and social care environment, and supports patients, the public, and health and care organisations across England to participate in high-quality research, thereby advancing knowledge and improving care.

The Portfolio Facilitator will support the RDMs by providing key business intelligence and communications, enabling the effective engagement of clinical research teams and the operational delivery of the LCRN and national objectives.

The role will also support the clinical specialty leads/GP champions to deliver the nationally set clinical specialty objectives.


The role is based in Bristol but will involve travel to research sites, meetings and conferences across the West of England region and nationally as required.
