    This is an exciting opportunity to work across different parts of the healthcare system and to increase the number of bowel cancers detected at an early stage.


    At the Wessex Cancer Alliance we work with primary, secondary and community care to increase the number of people diagnosed with cancer at an early stage.

    We are looking for an experienced project manager for a fixed term (22 months) to co-design, manage and oversee the evaluation of a project with Cancer Research UK to quickly implement changes that will affect stage shift in bowel cancer.

    Implementing assigned local and national programmes across Wessex.

    Leading a high-profile programme across Wessex, involving strategic thinking, quality improvement, programme management and stakeholder engagement across primary care, public health, secondary care, and local communities.

    Providing programme management leadership and expertise to support sites as required.

    Design, facilitate and effectively lead programme management meetings with stakeholders, ensuring breadth in participation and a focus on action planning.

    Budget management.

    Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a health care setting.

    Knowledge of project management /improvement skills across a range of disciplines, with a track record of managing successful change
    Holds a relevant project management qualification (e.g. Experience at a senior level in industry or healthcare sector.
    Evidence of significant structured project management skills and experience.
    Previous experience in quality / service improvement environment
    Knowledge and application of quality improvement and service redesign tools and techniques

    Ability to scope, plan and manage a suite of projects
