Description

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer to support projects and activities for the Research and Business Engagement function and will be based in the Research and Innovation Projects Team, reporting to the Research & Innovation Projects Team Manager.

The key focus of the role will be to manage the development and implementation of the 4Ward North PhD Programme for Health Professionals.

The primary purpose of the role is to manage the 4Ward North PhD Academy for Health Professionals.

The programme has been created thanks to a £7.5 million award from the Wellcome Trust for the Universities of Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield to combine their strengths in biomedical and health research.

Its aim is to raise the quality of academic research training for health professionals in northern England.

While the role will focus on 4Ward North, it will be located within the Research & Innovation Projects Team. The team provides a professional service to support the development and implementation of the Faculty's research and innovation strategy.

It works closely with the academic community to:

  • Coordinate FBMH internationalisation teaching and research partnerships and collaboration opportunities.
  • Run the Faculty Fellowship Academy, helping researchers gain externallyfunded fellowships, from doctoral studies to senior levels.
  • Work closely alongside the Faculty Research Support Services team, which provides operational support for administrative and financial aspects of research grant management.
  • Support the formation and ongoing management of research networks by coordinating meetings, workshops and large events that help collaborations grow and prosper. This is in addition to the planning, coordination and management of projects and initiatives.
  • Provide strategic and administrative support to the Vice Dean for Research and Innovation, Head of Research and Business Engagement and the Research Development and Innovation Manager.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.
