    Description
    It helps our software drive the entire airline industry. It is therefore imperative that our Informix databases are secure, highly available and high performing.

    We are looking for an experienced Informix database engineer to maintain our high standards, but also to drive us forward to achieve even higher expectations.

    As a Principal Informix engineer at Accelya you will develop architectures, standards, operating procedures and strategies for the deployment, configuration and management of Accelya's mission-critical Informix estate.

    You will also act as the Informix subject matter expert for our partners in the software engineering teams, enabling them to develop Informix-based applications that are secure, highly available, efficient and fast.

    There are operational aspects to this role, but you will have the opportunity to automate the deployment and operation of databases to minimise effort and increase agility and consistency.

    You will also be part of an experienced, inquisitive and motivated database engineering team.
    Develop standards for deploying and configuring Informix and the technologies it depends upon (storage, operating system, network, etc)
    Define procedures for the deployment, configuration and operation of Informix on various platforms including AWS, VMWare Cloud on AWS and 'on-prem'
    Train the wider database engineering teams on the deployment and management of Informix so Accelya can deliver services 24*7
    Collaborate with our software engineering teams to help them deliver secure, highly available, high performing applications on Informix
    A proven track record of developing and documenting standards, policies and procedures
    A proven track record in helping application developers leverage Informix securely and effectively
    Experience designing and implementing monitoring, alerting and self-healing strategies
    Knowledge, experience of, or desire to learn about open-source database platforms such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra will be beneficial
