    Description & Requirements

    We are looking for a sell-side equity research analyst to join the ESG team with all its main roles, including publishing thematic research pieces, supporting sector teams to write ESG reports, maintaining our databases, and responding to client requests. As such, we are looking for someone who is comfortable interacting and collaborating with a large number of people as well as being highly organised. In time, and with our support, we would like our new colleague to progress to publishing their own research reports and leading meetings with our clients.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Support of current team's financial knowledge by bringing an knowledge of ESG policy, frameworks, developments, and financial implications to the team;
    • Conducting research on companies through an ESG lens, attendance at company ESG events, attendance of meetings with company management, researching company annual/sustainability reports and other sources;
    • Updating of Berenberg's 'ESG Top Picks', SDG and net zero databases;
    • Helping to create ESG and thematic reports
    • Working closely and collaborating with sector research teams to discuss ESG topics and themes across sectors;
    • Collaboration with UK and continental Europe ECM on IPOs and primary market activities.
    Your Profile:
    • Previous experience in an ESG role, ideally at least two years – e.g. Corporate sustainability analyst, Sustainability consultant, ESG Research expert;
    • Knowledge of ESG and sustainability frameworks, factors and their relation to corporates;
    • Basic financial literacy
    • Comfortable engaging with key stakeholders – ie company management teams, other research analysts, "internal" clients (eg Equity Sales), institutional investors
    • Working in a systematic and methodical way;
    • Evidence of clear analytical thinking with excellent attention to detail;
    • Strong ability to manage priorities and own time;
    • Degree level education or equivalent experience required;
    • Advanced IT skills, including all standard Office applications;
