We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim's Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim's UK & Pilgrim'sFood Masters).

Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.

As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation.

We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.
A dedicated Transactional Services team will be created to deliver a high-quality and cost-effective service to the Business Units. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for a Senior Buyer (Agriculture)
About the Role
Job Responsibilities

  • Developing sourcing strategies.
  • Developing supplier assessment programme.
  • Developing and managing supplier contracts for major areas of spend.
  • Developing Risk Management / Business continuity plans with key suppliers.
  • Supporting the capital purchasing process.
  • Rationalise the supplier network.
  • Report cost savings monthly.
  • Drive to improve supplier quality and service.
  • Identify cost savings by spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes new technology, new suppliers, nontraditional sources v traditional sources etc
  • Communicate across business market data, strategy, approved vendors, KPI data and success stories.
  • Working within and leading cross functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value added projects
What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 3 yearsexperience within a Procurement Department.
  • Good knowledge of Agriculture having worked within Agriculture for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Recent experience in managing a range of suppliers and categories
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Effective communication, influencing and teamwork skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven cost savings across a range of categories
