We are looking for a highly motivated apprentice who is interested in working in Financial Services and wishes to pursue a career as a Business Analyst within Technology and Business Change. The role of the Business Analyst involves identifying and analysing business problems and opportunities, and then designing solutions that can help organisations achieve their goals. Business analysts work closely with various departments, including management, IT (Information Technology), finance, investments and marketing, to understand their needs and gather requirements. In Investment Change we are doing several exciting projects (often technology led), that allow M&G staff to work more efficiently, ensure that we are competing fairly and honestly through adhering to the rules set up by the regulator and most importantly helping us give a better service to our customers. Some examples of projects we are working on include a new Research Management System, which helps our professional investors get access to the best information to make their investment decisions. The successful applicant will be exposed to the different projects and will work closely with other teams within the business, to provide innovative solutions to business problems. The role forms part of the overall Technology and Business Change team, in particular the Regulatory and Sustainability Portfolio Business Analysis team A Business Analyst Apprentice will support the delivery of the new requirements needed to deliver on the relevant project / workstream objectives. They will learn about and support completion of the documentation needed for this process. The output of the workstream will feed directly into the overall design of a proposed solution and will require close co-operation with those project team members and business users. Key accountabilities of the role:
    • Document and record elements of the current system and shadowing existing users, effectively knowing how the system that is going to be replaced works
    • Support the write up of requirements (what users require the new system to deliver)
    • Help prepare for workshops, engaging the attendees and ensuring the set up (room etc.)
    • Support setting up user interviews attending alongside a BA (Business Analyst)
    • Attend and capture notes at key meetings
    • Review the analysis documents produced by the BA giving your input and feedback
    • Help test the new system and ensure that it works according to the specification
    • Mentor older business analysts in the usage of modern tech, social media do and don'ts etc.
    The training you will be getting
    • As a Change Services Business Analyst Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship
    • The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses
    • This is a fixed term contract for 21 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department
