    Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

    Strategic Focus:

    • Deal effectively with a broad range of legal matters including corporate, commercial, regulatory, financial services and litigious matters
    • Providing legal support to new business initiatives. For example, negotiating and advising on strategic initiatives and transactions, international expansion, regulatory and governance matters
    • Managing internal processes and ensuring proper stakeholder engagement and good governance throughout contract lifecycle
    • Identify opportunities to further enhance the efficient operation of the Legal Team

    Operational Management:

    Drafting, advising and assisting the business negotiate commercial contracts and providing competent legal advice on a broad range of matters, including in the following areas:

    • General commercial and corporate law
    • Outsourcing
    • Financial services regulatory requirements
    • Information technology
    • Data protection and privacy law
    • Intellectual property

    People Leadership:

    • Manage, drive and own stakeholder relationships with a view to achieving stakeholder satisfaction and enhancing the standing of the Legal Team
    • Contribute to the development of the Legal Team by participating in team meetings, business forums/committees (as required) and sharing information and know how

    Governance & Risk:

    • Advising and helping to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to internal and external clients
    • Support the business in identifying and managing incidents, exceptions and breaches of regulatory or contractual obligations
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of superannuation legislation and trends
