    Our Community Eating Disorder Service for Adults (EDSA) are recruiting and would like to hear from you

    We are an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, psychological therapists, clinical associate psychologists, assistant psychologist and support workers.

    This is an exciting time to be joining the Trust, and the Eating Disorders Service for Adults, as we work to enhance the availability of care to all adults experiencing eating disorders in Somerset.

    Main duties of the job The primary focus of the role is providing clinical leadership regarding the psychological care offered to people experiencing eating disorders. This will include advice, consultation, supervision and training as well as service development, and direct clinical interventions to people with the most complex psychological needs.

    The Eating Disorder Service for Adults (EDSA) is responsible for providing a countywide community service to adults in Somerset experiencing an eating disorder. The EDSA is an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, psychological therapists, clinical associate psychologists, assistant psychologist and support workers.

    Since July 2020 we have been implementing the FREED (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders - see care pathway, alongside our existing service and care pathways, to enable evidence-based intervention at the earliest possible opportunity.     • To take overall responsibility for the provision of a specialised psychological service to clients within the EDSA, their families and carers
    • To provide highly specialist, direct, psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for clients within the EDSA
    • To provide highly specialist advice on the assessment, treatment & management of clients with eating disorders in order to contribute to care planning and specifically risk assessment and management.
    • To provide highly specialist consultancy and support on the psychological aspects of care for people experiencing eating disorders to other professionals as required.
    • To provide highly specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan
    • To tailor interventions to the developmental needs of young adults, using the FREED care package resources as appropriate.
    • To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under your care and to monitor and evaluate progress during the course of multi-disciplinary care.
    Person Specification Qualifications Essential
    • Doctoral Clinical / Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
    • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
    Desirable
    • Relevant specialist CPD qualification or post-qualification training in psychological therapy (e.g CBT-E, SSCM, MANTRA, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, RO-DBT, Trauma-Focussed CBT, EMDR, CFT
    • Management training/ qualification
    Experience Essential
    • Significant specialist post qualification experience in the field of eating disorders
    • Experience of work across service settings and agencies.
    • Supervision experience with all grades of staff
    Desirable
    • Experience managing Services
    Skills Essential
    • Highly developed In-depth knowledge of specialist therapeutic interventions with the client group, including at least two subspecialty areas, underpinned by comprehensive theoretical knowledge
    • Advanced assessment and formulation skills.
