    Job Title: Civil Structural Engineer Manager

    Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

    Location: Newcastle

    Reporting to: Head of Engineering

    Purpose:

    The Civil Structural Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable maintenance and inspection regime of the departmental asset management as determined by the Principal Engineer & Head of Rail Infrastructure Maintenance. The role is pivotal in meeting the safety, legislative, operational, and performance requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Management Leadership:

    ·Deputise for the Head of Rail Infrastructure Maintenance as required.

    ·Undertake Stand By & On Call duties as part of the role.

    ·Provide corporate responsibilities as a member of the Infrastructure Team.

    Asset Management:

    ·Manage planned and reactive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and inspections of the departmental asset management portfolio.

    ·Support Capital, Renewal & Major Projects Programme.

    ·Develop and manage the departmental strategic plan to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.

    People Management:

    ·Establish training and competence needs and conduct workplace assessments and mentoring as a Civil Structural Engineer Manager.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    ·Maintain industry contacts to ensure informed decision-making.

    ·Liaise with other departments and external parties on asset management issues.

    Compliance and Safety:

    ·Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental management system requirements.

    ·Implement safety and assurance procedures in accordance with out Safety Management System.

    Financial Management:

    ·Manage departmental budgets and control resources efficiently.

    ·Identify and achieve efficiency savings where possible.

    Requirements to be a Civil Structural Engineer Manager:

    ·Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification in Civil, Structural, or Arboriculture Engineering.

    ·Extensive experience in civil, structural, and associated asset management.

    ·Strong leadership and communication skills.

    ·Ability to make informed decisions in line with safety and legislative requirements.

    ·Proficient in budget management and strategic planning.
