The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting; an important role in the Finance Team.


In this role you will lead a professional financial accounting team, encompassing the management of purchase and sale ledger and other processing functions and be responsible for their training and development.


Working closely with the Head of Finance and Head of Financial Business Partnering, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all financial information is presented in a useful and timely manner to the wider organisation and you will play a key part in supporting the production of accurate and timely provision of management accounting information.

About You

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant with substantial financial and management accounting experience in a medium sized and complex organisation. Knowledge of the Charity sector would be advantageous but not a necessary requirement.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience of leading and engaging with finance and other corporate functions to develop a mature and rounded service.
  • Design, implement and monitor team key performance indicators to ensure full delivery of team priorities.
  • Have an excellent understanding of financial and management accounting processes, financial reporting and audit, planning as well as being adept at managing both your own and your team's priorities.
  • Be a strong leader able to communicate well with your peers and teams members and have resilience to adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands from internal and external stakeholders.
