Due to continued business growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a
Senior Buyer to drive improvements and commercial benefits across multiple category sectors within the procurement function for the British Engineering Services Group.


Reporting in to the Procurement Manager, you will work closely with our suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify, evaluate and improve current procurement activity in line with business objectives.

What will I be doing?

As a Senior Buyer your responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership and responsibility for driving best value across a variety of categories.
  • Supporting and innovating through the Supply Chain to drive our ESG strategy
  • Proactively develop and implement specific supply chain strategies to support the business objectives, growth and profitability of the Group.
  • Ensuring that all supply chain risks and opportunities are identified within the strategy and are mitigated and realised as appropriate.
  • Negotiating with suppliers on commercial terms plus ongoing management of suppliers to drive continued business success.
  • Adhering to business guidelines and processes
  • Assisting business units within the Group with optimising supply chain opportunities.
  • Supporting implementation of our new finance package (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance) from a procurement perspective, ensuring all procurement data is correct and managed effectively.

What experience do I need?


You will offer significant experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain role within commercial or customer focused environments, and will have a proven track record of developing and implementing end-to-end supply chain processes.

You'll have a professional and ethical approach to your work and will be a skilled communicator across all levels, owing to your well-developed interpersonal skills.


You'll also:

  • Offer experience in direct and indirect categories
  • Have RFP/Tender development and Capex procurement experience
  • Demonstrate confidence in negotiating at all levels
  • Project management skills
  • Be selfmotivated and demonstrate initiative, working effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Offer flexibility and willingness to travel to a variety of business sites
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong IT
