About the role


Lakeside Primary Academy is looking for an engaging Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team as a Behaviour and Wellbeing Assistant.


As a Behaviour and Wellbeing Assistant you may work in small groups or a one to one basis with children who need additional help to break down the barriers that are blocking them been able to access their learning provision and achieve their full potential.

You will need to use effective behaviour management skills, in line with the schools behaviour policy and other strategies that may be tailored to each child's individual needs.

You will deliver Social, Mental and Emotional interventions, identifying any areas in which the children may need additional support.


You will contribute to the progress reports, observations and assessment of the children's learning, identifying any areas of development and adjusting lessons as appropriate for individual needs.


The job requirements


You will a good understanding of child development, be passionate about improving the outcomes for children within an educational setting with good ideas and strategies on how this can be achieved.


You will be working with a vast range of professionals within this role, so the ability to communicate effectively with the children, parents/carers, staff and the wider school community are essential.


You will have a calm and caring disposition, be able to remain calm in the face of challenging behaviour and have the ability to de-escalate situations quickly.


You will be an advocate for the children and a positive and proactive member of the team, ensuring you are working towards the schools goals and behaviour expectations.
