Description
An opportunity has arisen for a
Nightshift Supervisor to join our Operations team based at our Linwood site. This is a full-time, permanent role.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient and safe management of the handling and processing of waste and recyclable materials.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Manage, motivate and drive performance of a team of employees to maximise the throughput and processing of the operation
  • Effectively manage the allocation of resource to ensure staffing meets the demands of the operation
  • Accountable for delivering and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators
  • Induct and train employees to develop and maintain skills and knowledge of the team
  • Ensure that process plant and equipment operate safely, effectively and efficiently through all shifts
  • Ensure that the plant and equipment is set up, monitored and produces to all agreed specifications
  • Organise the removal and discharge of waste and effluent in accordance with management instructions and in compliance with the site licence
  • Participate and be proactive in process improvements with site operations and the engineering team
  • Drive a culture of proactive health and safety management with all accidents and incidents reported and investigated
  • Ensure all operators, contractors and visitors are working and adhering to company safety systems
  • Ensure that the correct Personal Protective Equipment, as provided by the Company, is worn at all times
  • Carry out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.
  • Enthusiasm for working on a nightshift, with ability to work autonomously
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees
  • The ability to work collectively towards a common goal
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at different levels within the organisation
  • Ownership and accountability for delivery of activity to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Compliance with site emergency procedures
  • Compliance with and an understanding of environmental legislation
  • An excellent understanding of health and safety, always promoting a healthy & safe environment.

Experience and Qualifications:


  • Experience of effective leadership of teams
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Mobile plant qualified or willing to attain this

Salary and Benefits:

- £41,708 basic pay with overtime at enhanced rate

  • Working hours Monday to Thursday between 6pm and 6am

From £41,708.00 per year

  • Linwood, PA3 3BD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
