Salary:


Lecturer Grade F:
£36,382 to £40,927 per annum


Lecturer Grade G:
£42,149 to £50,296 per annum


Senior Lecturer Grade H:
£51,799 to £60,022 per annum

Do you have the passion and drive we need to educate and train future generations of talented engineers? The School of Engineering is recruiting a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Advanced Manufacturing.

IESAM is a consortium which will develop and deliver flexible, high-quality Advanced and Digital Manufacturing training modules for the Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD) sector.

The consortium, led by Newcastle University, consists of the North East Institute of Technology (a partnership of Further Education colleges, Newcastle University and industry led by New College Durham) and other universities and colleges in the region.


The University has developed an Teaching and Scholarship Role Profiles document which summarises the range of activities that colleagues may be expected to perform.

The position is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis with an immediate start date, tenable until 31st March 2025.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable understanding of current and future challenges in Advanced Manufacturing, Electrification and Sustainable Manufacturing areas
  • Evidence of experience in lecturing and/or delivering practical skills training
  • Demonstrable knowledge of teaching and learning methods, techniques, including online approaches
  • Experience in developing highquality resources
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
Desirable

  • Awareness of Power Electronics, Drives, and Machines and an appreciation of how Advanced Manufacturing applies to this sector
  • Awareness of the Electric Revolution, and the technical challenges associated with enabling electrification across multiple sectors
  • Experience of universitylevel teaching (essential for grade G)
  • An interest in course development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (essential for grade G)

  • Ability to manage the planning and design of teaching materials by programme and modules teams
  • Demonstrable experience of contribution to strategic planning activity related to learning and teaching
