    The IT Network Engineer provides on-site IP network support for AVEVA offices in Cambridge, UK, and remote support for other AVEVA global offices. You will implement and support network infrastructures and services in a large enterprise. This is a junior level network engineering position with terrific opportunity for the candidate to gain experience in IP networking and cyber security.

    Responsibilities:

    The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:

    Help implement new networks, hardware upgrades and hardware replacement.

    Implement network infrastructure changes, including Moves, Adds and Changes.

    Perform software upgrades and patch management activities on network devices such as routers and switches, and on security appliances such as firewalls and Web Applications firewalls.

    Respond to user reported incidents and those generated by Network Monitoring Tools.

    Troubleshoot and resolve network and application problems reported.

    Respond to service requests submitted by end users. Review and assign requests to other team members or, where appropriate, implement the requested service.

    Manage incident and service requests according to established processes and escalate incident tickets to third-party service providers or to Senior Network Engineers.

    Help update network monitoring tools by following approved processes.

    Help maintain documents and data associated with network infrastructures and services such as CMDB, FAQ, helpdesk scripts and detailed network designs.

    Accomplish tasks both independently and collaboratively.

    Provide on-call coverage as a member of a team providing 24x7 support.

    Skills and qualifications:

    At least two years of experience implementing and supporting IP networks

    Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN and WiFi technologies and protocols

    Good understanding of routing, switching, and security fundamentals such as firewalls, including working with firewall rules and configuration

    Good understanding of networking concepts, including topics covered in Cisco CCNA

    Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues and MS Windows operating system, including troubleshooting

    Experience working with Service Management software such as ServiceNow or other similar platforms

    Good at following directions from senior network engineers, including ability to understand detailed network designs

    Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

    Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification

    Scripting and programming skills such as Python and PowerShell

    Security knowledge, especially with firewalls

    Familiarity with Linux, MacOS, Apple iOS and Android

    Public Cloud Network Infrastructure
